No glue, just use a scissors and cut it from valve to valve, then inflate the new tube 40%, wrap it, and then stuff it in the tire.

I've wrapped punctured tubes around new tubes and that seems to be a better way to protect your tires than this. This item also adds weight so if you're trying to minimize that, these aren't for you.
