Dell has more storage, but this is metal vs plastic, has a much better processor and screen resolution. Also touch screen and can be folded into a tablet.

Unless you are you going to play with big data sets, this laptop will future proof you for at least 5 to 6 years. Probably 3 years from now you will need to add another 8 GB ram to make it 16 GB.
