As an alternative to what? Those are non-impact rated 3/8" sockets. If you want 3/8" sockets, then I'm sure they are fine. If you are looking for 1/2" impact sockets for use on say a 1/2" impact...

Just to throw it out there.. These are Vanadium. Some people prefer Chrome Moly as Vanadium is harder and less flexiable so if it breaks on an impact then its going to break less "nicely". Don't know...

The sockets sit in kinda of a shallow valley when in the case, each has their place but if you are jar the case they can fall out of the case kinda easy.

It IS craftsman's "cheaper" line. But my guess is the build quality is probably the same. Here's my reasoning: The biggest obvious difference to the consumer is the warranty. Craftsman is no receipt...

I can agree about the 18mm, but i use 16mm quite a bit. Interesting kit though, you have a 22 and 24mm but not a 16 and 18mm. Pros and cons i suppose.

Lol I work on Audi, BMW and Toyota on a somewhat regular basis and have yet to reach for a 16mm or 18mm.
