I have two of these beds that stay plugged in all winter long for my two elderly cats. They provide enough heat to keep a cat cozy, but I think it's only about 5 degrees over the ambient temperature....

I wouldn't trust it overnight. I am a bit biased though as we had a house fire caused by a window fan about 15 years ago an d it nearly killed us all. Now I'm paranoid.
