Can't. There are some tabs that will get broken when opening. Still this thing has only 1 year of warranty. If you need to pull it - test well before.

Ironically for archiving lots of data they're quite slow. If you really need 8TB of storage, writing that 8TB will take, literally, about a week. If you want to write everything to it once a year...

I agree SMR drives are kind of sluggish (I have one), but I only need them for archiving. So I can live with the worse performance. I just don't want helium drives. That's why SMR drives make sense...

SMR mostly sucks, so it's not something you should be looking for, unless you're ok with saving a few dollars per TB for worse performance. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shingled_magnetic_recording
