I think I have a tougher beard. I pretty much need to shave with feather blades (some of the sharpest in the industry). I found derby blades to be pretty dull for me. But YMMV.

People are overstating the difficulty. It takes a little learning but as long as you recognize when the blade is too dull and needs to be changed, you'll be fine after a few shaves.

It will take a lot of practice before you can use this well (without hurting yourself...). My grandpa used to have one but moved on to safety razors when he got older any his hand wasn't as steady
