I totally agree, I have used more than 100 over hard drives since year 1997, I can only recalled only 1 drive failed when it was running, I still have few around 500MB (yes MB) hard drives and it...

You have a drive so old it was only 4gB, but you had it in an external enclosure? Also, I've had ... 3? drives fail. But, they lasted a while.

I remember those floods, but it mainly talks about Seagate and WD being affected...did it kill Samsung drives? Thought they would have rebuilt in the last six years.

Historically, to the 3tb drives fail at higher rates than the 2 or 4 tb... Might want to consider a 2 or 4.. a crappy 3tb(crcgate) from 2013 is failing on a friend.. and he will have to replace it...
