Thanks for the heads up. Got a 7700k + ga-gaming B8 for a 2nd build for ~340 after rebate and the $5 RMN coupon. They wouldn't let me bundle it with an open box mobo so YMMV on that part.

The only thing that can double the performance in games is 1080ti or two of them 😀 8700 is not faster than 7700 and almost 0 boost Sandy Bridge -> ryzen in games. in rendering/archiving/server etc...

Just got a 6700k, b250i strix and 16gb of ddr4 for 487. The b250 was open box and 37 bucks but ram slot was faulty so ended up with a new one. Not bad I think

Both the x and non-x SKUs are unlocked for overclocking, the x just has a higher base and boost. The 1600 specifically is great value, as most 1600s can be overclocked to 1600x levels of performance...

Yea but if you were following prices they bumped up their 7700k price by $20. It was at 279.99 for a few weeks. Last week it went back to 299.99
