I use this everyday, i basically forgot about my tv. U cannot use this in a bright room, add a chromecast, the lg apps sucks Hopefully 4k projector becomes affordable soon.

I can at least say this is a good replacement for TV because it has a TV tuner which lets your antenna plugged right away. I don't know many other projectors that have a built-in tuner.

I’ve used their 700 lumen model without issue on a 106” 1.0 gain screen, so yes this 900 (tested) model would be fine with ambient light and proper placement.

I did just fine with a 8’x12’ south facing window in coastal California...with an Edson 8350 that put out ~700lumen.
