Yes for driving screws into studs. No for screws into drywall. Use a drill with a sheetrock bit.

Eh I'm thinking about returning this now..especially after hearing about Milwaukee's new M12 fuel drills which will launch in December. Also I would probably want a combo kit.

Thanks for the info. In the end I ended up getting the combo instead - in store they threw in the $69 battery pack for free when buying the $199 combo of Both hammer drill/driver and impact.

Get an impact driver for doing anything that requires screws or fasteners. Way easier, faster, and less fatigue. Trying to use a hammer drill to drive screws is an exercise in frustration!

Battery is 2.0ah.
This little guy can do up to 100 ft lbs of torque. Pretty impressive for only 12v
