Yes for driving screws into studs. No for screws into drywall. Use a drill with a sheetrock bit.

I have the M12 fuel combo kit from way back and love these tools. Added the hackzall and circular saw too since. I saw this particular product and the hammer version at home Depot couple weeks ago...

Eh I'm thinking about returning this now..especially after hearing about Milwaukee's new M12 fuel drills which will launch in December. Also I would probably want a combo kit.

Thanks for the info. In the end I ended up getting the combo instead - in store they threw in the $69 battery pack for free when buying the $199 combo of Both hammer drill/driver and impact.

It's lower tier though, not the premium Fuel branded models. Milwaukee already showed their gen2 M12 Fuel drill and drivers so I expect sales on the gen1 stuff from now on - and they've been often...

Not at all, in fact I think this is the best application for this thing (not the impact, the regular driver for sheetrock). I own it and often used it for 90% of tasks instead of my 18v stuff in a...

The 12v Hammer Drill is awesome for light and medium duty usage. Contrary to what many believe, the hammering function is for drilling into masonry, brick, etc. It IS NOT the same principle of an...

Guess if you're used to killing flies with a cannon then that makes sense. A hammer driver is just a drill with an added hammer function. It can do anything a regular drill/driver would do, but...

Get an impact driver for doing anything that requires screws or fasteners. Way easier, faster, and less fatigue. Trying to use a hammer drill to drive screws is an exercise in frustration!

Nah the M12 series is about as big as someone who is under 150lbs can handle for a few hours of work. You start buying the 18-24v models and you will find yourself shopping for a light weight 12v...

Thanks, looks like a great deal. Anyone know if the hammer drill/driver would be overpowered for light duty household stuff? Like screws in sheetrock or small screws into studs?
