i will say, i went and got the touch screen set, but took it back after installing. i couldnt see the display when the sun was on that side of the house, otherwise it worked great

1) Most locks sold the US are not secure. Google "bump key". It's like the TSA, only there to give you the warm fuzzies. Arguably a a z-wave only lock would be more secure than a key only lock.

Why didn't you just call a locksmith? At worst, the would have drilled a hole in your deadbolt. That is still cheaper than a whole door, though.

Sounds like a nightmare. Do you happen to recall the model number and approximately when you got it? Did it have a key option too? Maybe their designs have been modified from when you got it.
