Because it's exactly that... a doorbuster. Because it's such a good deal, it will be sold out very quickly, unless you're willing to wait in line and be in the front of the line.

I told my friends about the discover/citi price protection every year. None of them actually is interested. They feel more comfortable to pay a few hundreds more to save the trouble to deal with...
