This is completely false. You may be thinking of a lesser model. This one has more bass than any other equivalent that I've heard. And it gets pretty loud without distorting.

The $30 tronsmart has close sound levels. This is still good for the waterproof aspect, and durability, but I'd go JBL if I didn't already have one of these.

I have not tried the UE megaboom yet compared to my big Jambox yet but the Jambox is made by Jawbone and that company isn't in the business of making speakers anymore. But I have to agree on paper...
