Yes, because you will need a more powerful card to keep games at or above 144hz with the RX580. With freesync, no screen tearing will occur when games go below the 144hz.

As I understand it, you wont get the 144hz through the HDMI only the DVI. Is this correct? Also note this monitor does not have display port.

I dont get it. Wouldnt bumping up 7 inches negate the increased pixels so pixel density would be pretty similar? Maybe checkout the pixel pitch?
