I agree with you that this is a good price. Maybe the TDs are because this lens was a decent amount cheaper a few months back with a SD rebate.

Well it depends if you are happy with the G1? I found it to be 1/3 stop sharper meaning at 600 and f6.3 is as good if not better than f7.1 on the G1... AF is a faster, but I never had problems...

The "sport" is also a slow lens and is F6.3 at the long end. AF speed is about the same with both of them which is pretty good actually. Beach Camera is an authorized dealer so you would get the 6...
