Depending on what you want, look up VBSS subwoofer, or Marty subwoofer for home theater. For music most people tend to prefer sealed.

I know they are quality, but for the money you are better off with multiples. Plus a MiniDSP is $100.

I've never auditioned either, but I don't believe they have anything close to the tech in the 16 ultra, or the new 4000 series. I could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure not. The ability to set custom eq...

SVS is great, but I think HSU and Rythmik are better for the money.

I'd vote a diy, or SVS PB16-ULTRA (or, the new 4000 series is also amazing)... I've also had the pc12-plus (same as pb12-plus) and for first sub it hit plenty hard 😊

Definitely build some if you have any DIY capacity at all. Otherwise I had a chance to demo the two new Rythmik 18s a month ago at a get together. They were awesome. I also think HSU has the best...

If you can find the rf-7 bundle for the same price, please let me know. Those would be better for movies than polks (polks will be better for music since they are quite warm).
