You could send the phone to LG. Several 5x users have had luck with LG fixing the phones out of warranty for free with about ten day turnaround.

I chatted with them twice. Both said it's $100 project fi credit on top of the $150 for the trade in. So pretty good deal if it goes through. Still gotta pay tax on the full price of the phone....
