Chrome has Ultrawide add ons for Net Flix and Youtube. They work great. And if you use VLC you can set your aspect ratio as well. This was the best buy of 2017 for monitors in my opinion even better...

I bought this and love it. I was worried about the 1080p but is fine, sharpness was maxed out of the box though. Turn that down if you haven't.

Trust me you don't want this in 1080p. It took me weeks to used to it next to my 1440p and IF anything you should be okay if that's all you ever used is 1080P
