800 Joules and no usb ports, so it does have surge protection, perfect for any small electronics. It was a walmart front page deal last week. So besides the usb ports this makes this deal look not so...

I don't know the joules of the strips you bought, but that's a huge factor in price. Usually they're around 500 for the cost you paid for yours. These are 1000.

I actually own this (the single strip) and you are right the spacing is tight. Although I do have all the plugs filled with 2 plugs being on the bulkier side. It's a pretty good looking power strip...

Interesting. Note the mounting holes (keyhole patterns) looks like they are meant mainly for mounting the bar horizontally, lengthwise, and not vertically. not designed for mounting under desks.

On the 5 outlets one, the spacing between each outlets looks awfully close. Unlikely you would be able to use all 5 outlets.

I may be wrong, but I don't think the cheaper one's have surge protection. I think strips with surge protection usually start around $20 and go up from there.

Just paid less then $3 for a 6 outlet one at walmart, so why is this one worth the extra $7 i dont think the USB ports are worth it. I mean its not a bad deal but not great.
