I switched from Orbi to Eero (gen 2) and it was a huge improvement in reliability. I use mine with a Ubiquiti Security Gateway and it makes a great setup.

Agreed. Definitely fastest Wi-Fi I ever used. Although they still may implement vlan and vpn down the stretch.

Yep you are right it doesn't have those two. If you need hardware level vpn or vlan capability then it's not for you. I think the majority of consumers don't need those two features.

It doesn’t have VPN or VLAN. I realize that you may not need it but that’s the major thing that comes to mind. I might be wrong.

If you have no issues then no. The EERO system is great as a set and forget system which self updates, self heals, and in general just plain works. Especially good for non-techies although i can't...

I have the second gen and have had zero issues with it. I have no dead spots in my house or garage with it now. Most of my 1 acre yard has WiFi coverage as well.

I tried it also and it is VERY GOOD. Probably one of the easiest and fastest Wi-Fi systems you can have. For the “isn’t very good” part you would need to be more specific.

Thanks for the link. Maybe worth adding in the title is that this is a 1st Generation set. The set compared in the link above is Gen 2.
