Not sure how true it is, but I have read online that regularly cutting power via a non-smart switch and the flipping it back on sends a rush of electricity that can cause premature wear on the bulbs...

The one workaround I've found is to use ActionTiles with Smartthings and have seperate dashboards for everyone.

You need a starter kit for the bridge buuut they usually only come with the A19 bulbs. If you don't plan on using that size at all, you can purchase a bridge separately and get the bulbs you need.
