The Philips Hue Warm White A19 were pretty inexpensive too; the lowest I saw was ~$7 per bulb when buying 4-packs from Walmart with 10% Chase Pay CB. White Ambience Hue were usually just as...

Early adopters always pay a tax, but there were deals over the holidays. I picked up 11 BR30s and 20 A19s (all full color) over the holidays and it worked out to ~$25 a bulb.

You need a starter kit for the bridge buuut they usually only come with the A19 bulbs. If you don't plan on using that size at all, you can purchase a bridge separately and get the bulbs you need.
