It sounds like it's coming from the front. You have to experiment with placement. I was really impressed with the Vizio's subwoofer because even though its only 5inch it really pumps out alot of bass...

Agreed. If you put the sub behind the couch, then you don't have wires getting in the way. Is the sound the same if the sub is behind you? I'm kind of used to it being in front.
