If I have job, rent out a house, and get book royalties, which is best? I used turbotax in past so don't know the HRBlock equivalent. Also no state tax.

For state that has no income tax (e.g. TN, TX, NH etc), I guess there is no need for buying Federal + State.

My thoughts exactly, unless a good price with State e-file shows up I am going to stick with Credit Karma for another year even though I liked HR Block a little better.

I don't think being a renter does anything for how you file taxes. You can live under a bridge or rent a fancy apartment and you'd still file taxes the same way. Now owning a home does affect how you...

I believe your referring to e-filing. No state e-filing through this software isn't free. But if you buy the deluxe+state, the program will still prepare your state tax forms if your state requires...

Ok, thanks. I have $17 in credits under Digital Rewards and it states this: $17.00 expires on April 27, 2018 I'm assuming they all expire on that date. **EDIT** Actually, just went back...

Deluxe+state. Your first state will be included but you will have to pay extra for any additional states.

Meh. I got the deluxe + efile for $9.99 on last deal that did not include 5% bonus refund. This deal is worse since it's more expensive and there is little value in the 5% bonus refund as...

Would this work for a salaried man working in NYC, living in NJ (basically 2 state taxes involved) filing married jointly with a stay at home spouse? Or additional packs need to be bought for this...

Deluxe is all you need. I have your same situation and much more. The chart they use is somewhat deceptive and try to sell you a more expensive version that is not needed. I'd guess that close to...

You always have to pay separately for the State return.
Post #110585319 added 01-04-2018 5:43 AM by Jizzylax in Deal Talk
Does your state offer free e-filing? I always use the program to prepare the return, then e-file it myself for free. It's not complicated.

So you still have to pay an extra $20 to e-file your state return? That seems scammy.

Post #110593711 added 01-04-2018 9:10 AM by highlanderfil in Deal Talk
I'm a homeowner, owner of rental property in another state and have gains from stocks. Would I be able to get away with the $19.99 version or do I need to stump up the extra ten bucks?
