that's my point. you can never know for sure if you can qualify until you never get a promo code AFTER you made your gc purchase. certainly someone (maybe a few hundred thousand people) might think...

How come is this even a deal? If you haven't bought a gift card before there is always get $10 when you buy $50 promo. That is much better and does not require Alexa or anything.
