p.s. I'd take this Sigma Art and other Art lenses vs their stabilised counterparts because there aren't any (up until recently) stabilised f/1.4 lenses. AND I like the way these Art lenses "draw"...

For me, yes it'll come in handy. Even with 1/125 if I'm not careful I can see evidence of camera shake when using my 85mm Art.

The crop sensor captures the same "amount of light" as a full frame. The exposure doesnt change. The full frame sensor with the same given MP as a smaller crop sensor would typically have larger...

The price on this lens is really amazing, however the weight and the auto focus inconsistencies lead me to buy the Canon 35mm II. It's smaller, lighter and still has all the performance of this...

Have the 50mm ART. Thinking of adding the 35mm ART but might just get 24-35 ART instead. Need that on sale

Yes if I only had one for portraits I’d use 85 over 35. I only put the35 on for family or it’s awesome at a wedding. I LOVE the 135 too

I bought this and have used for the past 8 months. It’s super sharp and with sun flare it’s nice. I have all L Glass (85 1.4/135/24-70) and this has been a great addition especially if you need a...

A good prime to try is the Canon 50mm 1.8 STM. I have all L lenses and that... it's great. You can find it on refurb from Canon for

A fantastic lens and at this price your decision is easier to make. This rarely leaves my 5D3 and when it does it's for an 85L.

I don't really think so. Usually you're either shooting portraits where you might use a tripod or good lighting, or you're shooting moving subjects and would use a high shutter speed anyway. I don't...

While it doesn't actually affect the aperture, because of the smaller sensor size it captures less light than a FF camera per pixel. You'll need a longer exposure or higher ISO at the same aperture...

Oh thanks for pointing it out. Sorry, I didn't pay attention. But do you think IS is something that should affect the decision at 85mm?

There isn't a Sigma 85mm with OS. There's the Sigma 85mm Art and the older EX lens.

It doesn't. It'll only affect DoF and even that is debatable. Using a full frame lens on a crop sensor does nothing more than "crop" the center image of the lens. If you want to COMPARE against...

New believer in Sigma ART lenses. I got the 599 deal (18-35) for Nikon mount and it is by far the sharpest lens lens I have. Sold my 35mm prime, 18-55mm. Sigma is on my camera all the time.

General walk around lens. Works great for street photography, since you're rrally immersed in the scene. Will work on for landscape although a little tight. 35mm is my go to focal length for a...
