I beg to differ. There are isolated issues, but CS is good. All electronics have about a 5% defect rate, so some bad experiences are bound to happen.

Onkyo has a phone app, I haven't tried it yet but I imagine you can control volume for both zones through the app over WiFi. I don't even use a physical remote any more for my Onkyo.
