Unifi cameras are super overpriced. Buy some Hikvision or Dahua cameras off Ebay instead. Much more economical and get an NVR like BlueIris or something.

Going to revive this thread just to follow up that my concerns with Ubiquiti/Unify are still ongoing. Now that I have purchased ALL of the Ubuiti Unify equipment including POE switch which I had...

To anyone who follows these things closely: what are the chances of the Unifi switches going on sale again anytime soon? I think I'm looking for the US-24, which is typically $200 but was $180...

I'm on the fence about the Unifi system. I spent quite a few hours this past weekend replacing the single TMobile (Asus) TM1900C WiFi router for 2 AC PRO's and a cloud key. We have a long home and...

Just my 2 cents... everyone's case is different and not everyone needs Ubiquiti. For me, I eventually found my way to Ubiquiti because I needed signal strength & reliability at an affordable...

Possibly faulty hardware? For this much money I would rather build a pfSense router. I'm running a J3355-based opnsense router with multiple Ubiquity AP's and could not be happier.

yeah ubiquiti has really good online marketing which makes people think they're better than they are. It's all shiny and modern looking, but in reality a lot of things are broken or missing and...

These are problems nonetheless. The equipment is not plug and play like Netgear stuff. And on top of that you need one of two things: A) Additional Cloud Key (~$70) connected to the network or...

Yes, absolutely sure, I spent 3-4 hours going back and forth and swapping access points for the older Nighthawk AC1900. I can show screengrabs of my Ookla difference, but just with the AC-PRO to...

Are you sure it's not Comcast messing with you? I'd start with just wired connections and make sure you don't lose any speed between Netgear and USG. It's just really unusual. Guys...

Been looking to upgrade as well. It seems Ubiquiti "ease of use" requires people to drink the Ubiquiti koolaid. Seems insane to buy everything from one provider. I'm guessing this is why...

I wanted to upgrade/change the system at my house. I started my research just about the time that the Ubiquiti stuff started popping up on SD. Bought and installed my new system. DO NOT start...

I have to say, I do not understand the love of this Ubiquiti equipment or the popularity of the recent deals threads on it. Through threads like this one I was convinced to buy a USG, an 8 POE...

It really depends on what you want to do and your skill level. If you don't know anything about networking, you won't be able to do much with the edgerouter aside from setting up a super basic home...
