1080P is fine for desktop use IMO, at typical distance it's fine. Been using my 27" 1080P Samung for about last 5 years. Just that it's got huge bezels... Maybe if you are used to a higher res...

Yeah 1080p is too low for 27", imo. If it's typical desktop distance.

I recently got the Ultrasharp U2415 which is 16:10, which I really prefer for desktop use. It's absolutely gorgeous monitor but yeah, was like $215.

Is this a good deal? Just my 2 cents, "FreeSync" is kinda pointless if you're just dealing with a 60Hz monitor. Aside from that point, a 27" monitor still running 1080p just feels like wasted real...

I got this monitor a few weeks ago from Staples for the same price. It was replacing an older HP2207. This thing has a great picture and I love the fact that it has no bezels. I sit at normal...

Yep, true 8 bit panels are hard to find in budget 1080p type resolution monitors, 10 bit (8+frc) exist on the $600 1440p - 4k type monitors, they aren't investing in new panel tech at 1080p. But...

Nah, nobody in tech would ever recommend running the non-native resolution.

A very specific scenario that does not apply to the majority. Still you could set them up with a better 27" that is capable of much better res than this. The good ones scale down to 1080p even if...

I actually got a request at work for a 32" 1080p. The user is running a 22" at 800x600, due to vision problems. Different strokes for different folks. I'd buy this, but not sure a 27" is enough...

ahem, you took me out of context like they always do. I said ban 1080p on 27" + monitors (not ban all 1080p and not to say ban 1080p TVs any size). Monitors are different from TVs. Just no point in...
