From the resident expert: buy garbage and hope for the best! What a dunce. MTBR has an excellent forum full of people who obsess over lighting. Lots of actual data. I strong recommend surfing it...

I see people out on the trails at night with cheapo Amazon lights like these (500+ lumens, < $50). Not everyone is willing to spend $200+ on a high-end light. Always carry at least two light...

I bought this when it was like $40. Dang! Best thing about this is it can charge your phone while riding.

These lights are made for rather casual riders who ride in and around cities where there are alternative routes on streets with streetlights and such. No one should think that people are considering...

That sounds like a completely reasonable response. But your response sounds like that from a jerk.

I'm just quoting this so it'll be here if he decides to edit. Unbelievably poor reading comprehension.

So you're recommending a piece of crap light, but you wouldn't touch that crap yourself. You're full of it, friend. Ignored.

My nitecore charger cost $25, and also charges all of my AA/AAA eneloops. I bought 4-packs of 18650 batteries for $5-$8, and I've got nearly 30 of them to split between my headlamps and...

The listing is for a $25 flashlight. Not a Fenix. I'd equally hypothesize about the contents of a bag of shit from the smell. Again, you should know better than to recommend it. It's irresponsible. ...

I'm assuming you're pretty much ignoring the Fenix by comparison, but assuming you're not-- 1800 max lumens vs 800, full metal casing vs the rickety plastic of your cygolite, 18650 batteries vs...

I had the 650 model for two years before passing it on to a family member. Runtime wasn't appreciably worse at the end than the beginning. What's your 18650 charger cost? How about your...

Proprietary non-removable battery. Requires USB-charging. Once that battery begins to fail (and it's inevitable), it will be a paperweight.

I wish I knew this, bought a 900 lumens Anker couple of months ago but that thing is heavy. This would have been much better.

HARD pass. As someone who rides singletrack at night for hours at a time, I would never ever recommend a light that relies on a proprietary non-removable battery. I'd heavily recommend the 950...

The mount looks like it's easily removed. Personally, I'd rather have multiple mounts--but the lights are dirt cheap, so you could just buy a second. I absolutely wouldn't trade this for my Fenix...

Garbage. Cygolite's Metro 800 is $40 new on the 'bay. Proper branded LED, battery, beam pattern, light cycles, and mount, from a company with a warranty. If you're considering this "950LM" whatever,...

You do not get a 950 lumen light for less than a dollar. Maybe you got a 20 lumen or 50 lumen light for that price. Good luck cycling in the woods at night with anything less than 500 lumens.

It's very simple and easy to switch out to another bike, maybe take you all of 30 seconds to do it! There is NO NEED to have another mount!
