Just received mine a few days ago and I thought I would chime in. The battery is in fact 2.0 amp hour. The kit arrived in non retail packaging, which doesn’t bother me at all but I did have to refer...

Sure better power, but less mobility. For light duty DIY, sometime mobility can be importnant

Still $129, but it doesn't show the original price. Does anyone know what it normally is priced?

Is there any way? The only thing I could come up with is at pick up try to return and rebuy. The problem is they don't normally sell this in store and may not be able to rebuy.

Modern Li-on batteries are mostly maintenance free. I would say this, if you don't already own Ridgid's 18V tools, and you only rarely use a router for some very small job, then a Ryobi corded...

As an avid home owner DIYer, I totally can't agree to this. I found cordless makes a huge difference in convenience for all of your mentioned except table saw. DIYers usually don't do the same...

This is incorrect. "aH' should be "Ah", Amp x hour. The voltage is always going to be 18V because it is a 18V system. voltage x amp x hour is the total capacity of in energy. The unit is Joules....

Corded versus cordless. You will almost always get more for your money if you are willing to be tied down by a power cord,

I just got the Makita RT0701CX7 (1.25hp router with fixed base, plunge base, and edge guide) from Toolnut. Total was $119 shipped. This deal was posted not too long ago on SlickDeals for $114. I...

Only when sold in a kit like this though. If you buy batteries separate without a tool then it is only a 3 yr warranty.

Agree. For the DIY'er, outside of a drills/drivers, most cordless tools don't make nearly as much sense. Cordless circular saws, sawzalls, jigsaws, table saws and routers???? I'm not getting it, not...

I have the old Maxselect 6 1/2" saw R885 with the 18V nicad. Not a beast by any means. I heard it was good with the 24V battery, but those are long gone.
