LOL. Are you trying not to get it or do you simply just not get it? BB or BD aren't the ones that provide the factory warranty coverage. Are they the factory? They aren't. That would be Sony.

The serial number of "OPEN BOX" items are different form the new items. So there is no warranty based on the serial number not just the description on the receipt.

Sony’s warranty policy states no warranty on Open Box items. If your receipt doesn’t say “Open Box,” you may have some luck. If it does say it, you won’t get warranty coverage unless you go 3rd party.
