sure it helps if you are in the 4th bedroom and no one is in the hallway. It is not the best solution, but far better than no solution or expansive solution of switching to a multi zone HVAC

It is less about the bug, but more about Nest can't sense or compatible with multiple sensors. IMO, this is Nest's archilis hill, a major one.

If you want your thermostat to know the temperature of more locations than then number of zones in your hvac system, ecobee is ahead of the game. Plus best doesn't officially support ST.
