Just bought a 16 oz iso canister at Walmart for $8. Good for 360 hours. At that rate, it's not worth refilling.

Used them for hunting. They work great. Wont get you zero Mosquitoes, but it cuts down on them drastically in the woods.

you can with an adapter but I haven't because I use the canisters for backpacking and propane only isn't suitable for cooking in lower temperatures. Would be find for the thermacell though.
