FWIW if you have an Xbox you can purchase the Xbox TV tuner.. Use the Xbox for your local TV and get a very nice guide and rewind functionality for $70.

You can add an aftermarket tuner to the TV but then you have to factor in the cost of that with the cost of the TV when comparing prices with other brands. If you use cable or satellite then this...

I don't get it at all... why would Vizio cut out the tuner? Surely it didn't save that much money. So is everyone saying you can't add a tuner aftermarket to pick up OTA channels?

I've been doing a bit of research lately on these two TVs, and all I know is the TCL P-series (which the 6 is replacing) was considered one of the best TVs of 2017. I've read a little about the 6...

Same. $50+/month for cable isn't worth it. Tuner is high on my priority list.

Wonder how this will compare to new TCL 6 series that’s rolling out soon. Read several great reviews but skeptical of the brand compared to Vizio.

Yeah you have good odds of that. It’s been cheaper at Sam’s Club, Target and Bestbuy in the past. (Straight cost, ignoring gift card value)

I’d rather wait a month for the price to hit 549 and avoid the dell gift card and dell for that matter. Heard too many horror stories with them.

No. Solid with the gift card, but if you’re not using it pretty crap deal. It’d be solid if it was the P-series.

That won’t work with Vizio as they do not have a tuner built in to then decode and display the signal.
