You'd need to stick with 20v batteries. 40v would burn up the motor.

Very dumb question... I have a 40v battery from a trimmer and blower, would that battery work on this just giving it extra run time?

Yes they were from the Walmart sale. All the 20v Max series should be interchangeable.

I have this trimmer. Works great and does everything on one charge, and I have a lot of bushes. Cords and gas don't seem remotely worth it after having this version.

I picked up the 20v drills that we're only $15 a while back so this is a good complement. It also has the Bluetooth battery with USB ports to change your phone. I cut two extension cords last year...

Decent deal on a hedge trimmer. Includes a smartech battery. Also has a powercut feature (seems to be the only new feature over the previous year's model). Out of stock at Amazon....
