I suggest to avoid Lorex wire free and rather go for Arlo pro. I'd take 7 days of cloud storage over 2 years of local storage. If DVR is stolen, you loose everything. Some probably will find it...

Our first set of batteries lasted about 6 months. So long as you set the camera so it's not going off too often (adjust motion sensitivity and what's within it's field of view), you should be fine.
