The Pro controller is definitely worth it.
Also a charging grip is worth it for keeping the JoyCons charged. It also acts as a secondary controller for 2 player.
Imo is a perfect pair to a Pro...

Yep. I'm a relatively large guy with large-ish hands, but to me the pro controller is great while the joy cons feel designed for kids.

Agreed. Do you think that the joy con buttons are annoyingly small compared to other controllers?

I get that. I just vastly prefer the pro controller, and even if I didnt have it, I would just use the joy cons without the grip. Obviously not everyone agrees.

I like the generic controller feel, so for me I'll prolly get the pro controller if it goes down to $50. This grip is cool though, as u can joy cons, while playing (and not being on tablet mode)

I don't dislike it? It's better than joy-con alone (or maybe I'm just used to the standard controller feel) but I'm sure the pro controller is probably better. I don't have one of those yet though...

I get that (kind of), I'm just thinking that I prefer to hold the joy cons separately vs. in the grip. I realize that my preference may not be everyone's preference.

Bought a comfort, non-charging grip for about $7 off Amazon in January that I feel is adequate. Don’t think I can bring myself to get the pro controller due to the $60-70 price tag.

Do people really enjoy using the grips? I use the pro controller whenever possible, and the joy cons without the grip when I need to. What's the use case for the grip?
