for the firmware thing, I had the a similar issue. The delayed rollout. But eventually worked on mine.

It pokes out of the wall. That looks pretty bad to be honest. For something that doesn't even dim $99 is pretty pricey too! And since you are posting it on here, I assume the MSRP is even higher....
