There was a link to sign up for Sling during the Roku's on-screen setup that specified the $50 credit. It gave a custom link to visit in a browser to register for Sling. The credit was instant.

yes, this is a scam, at least with walmart purchased roku offer; yes, u will get an error -a 'wheel' that says wait and wait ...to the point that nothing happens. called sling; they r aware of...

DirectTV Now has the best guide with the see through feature while searching another channel. Its shortcomings are: no DVR and only 2 streams. I am happy with it. I put Sling in 2nd place.

False. Roku is going strong. Many of the smart TV's are proprietary, and don't do a good job of updating apps like Roku.
