I bought one of these for 2.90 from Amazon recently and can't really recommend it. It feels way too light in the hand the rotating mechanism doesn't seem to really sharpen the point as the lead fills...

Definitely not. This is the only bad thing about these pencils - the eraser is very tiny. You'll probably use it up in one day.

The Kurutoga is by far the best at this price range. I recommend it. It just has some terrible liabilities that come with it. They have very weird failures. For example, it will be jammed and no lead...

The pipe slide and advance models share the same sliding pipe and mechanism, the main difference is the Advanced has some metal parts and a metal clip where the pipe slide uses plastic.
