Out of curiosity, if you register the card immediately, does that help? There's a $15 off 2 $100 MC purchase that I was going to do and use quickly but not that quickly.

It can't be overemphasized that these MCGCs are notorious for getting hacked IMMEDIATELY after activation. If you're going to buy these, make sure to drain them ASAP (within an hour, if possible)....

Citi used to allow credit card payments with debit cards but this no longer works with prepaid debit cards. Amex or Chase def do NOT allow this.

Were yours charges from Amazon market? I think the thieves used cards to buy stuff and sell on Amazon. Then used my cards to pay the selling fees.

Personally I wouldn't buy them unless I had plans to drain them the same day. Likely it wouldnt happen that fast but as you can tell from others comments, it is a hassle if/ when it does happen.

Yeap...I got my hacked too...but was able to get all but $6 back because they charge you for a replacement. It was a pain in the neck to get the funds back.

As soon as I got these, I put all the balance to prepay Tmobile, internet, cable bills, another option is to buy Walmart / Target gift cards since you most likely will shop there :)
