This is helpful info to all. I have the reverse setup. Thank goodness. I have a LG TV and a Sony player. The LG allows you to choose "original" to get the native aspect ratio from the player

Ah, here it is "You cannot select and option when the resolution is set to higher than 720p" So unless you manually set the output lines of resolution to 720, you can't set 4:3 aspect. Pain...

Magnavox is same as Philips and Sanyo, made by Funai and it's a totally fine player. I have it and the Xbox one S and I prefer it for uhd playback.

As of a couple days ago, Best Buy and Microcenter were same price. I bought one from Best Buy. Those were the 875 though. but I read that they're the same thing.
