You can avoid all that by pulling your tin foil hat tightly over your ears. No way for them to get in then. Which is good because I'm sure you are like one of their top 10 targets. :peace:

It seems to be related to how the provider configures their channels. Seems like they restrict modems that are capable of higher throughput to avoid saturating channels and congestion.

This 24x8 modem should get you the max your plan offers. The only thing you may or may not run into is getting IPV6 address from Spectrum. Seems like it depends area by area with Spectrum.

Been watching the 7620 version and it went up in price as soon as this post went up!
FYI, both the 7620 and the 7650 use Broadcom chipsets, which is good. You don’t want the Puma chipsets, even...

Ok well if you think I'm just blowing smoke up your ass then you can buy it and test it out. I guess it could work differently depending on where you are in spectrums network, if it's a Legacy...

I was wrong, I was thinking of the 16x8 channel modems. This one should pull around 300 even though its rated for 500, it's done like that on the network side for redundancy and partly it's the way...

Each channel should get you around 38mbps down and 27mbps on the upload side. I'm not sure what spectrum is doing that makes them have such vast differences in speed compared to every other docsis...

Just because that modem is rated for 300 does not mean it will pull that on Spectrum network, they dont use all the available channels to bond, so that one is rated for 300m bonding 24 down stream...

this is definitely a better modem than the 6141. 6141 maximum is around 300mbps down. sometimes providers will provision a modem that technically can't pull the maximum speed the customer is paying...
