Slow flash married to a USB 3.0 interface will be slower than fast flash married to a USB 2.0 interface. For most flash drives, the flash is the limiting factor, not the USB 3.0 interface.

But that’s wrong. There are plenty of 3.0 Sandisk flash drives that don’t come anywhere near maxing out the bandwidth of a usb 2.0 port.

USB 3 doesn't mean anything if the write speed on the flash is pitifully slow. The Microcenter drives aren't particularly fast IIRC.
