This router (XR500) does not actually allow you to use your own VPN service.. it advertised that it does, but it will only let you set up service with "HideMyAss", you cannot use your own VPN...

I would say with this sale listed here being only about $30 more it's probably the better deal. This router alone sells for almost $300 these days on Amazon. I have owned it for about 5 months now...
