I feel the same way, I ended up buying the $99 hydraulic splitter for the large knotted wood. Cheap, easy to store and works flawlessly...
Don't know if you have one close, but tractor supply has their bar chain oil (countryline) on sale every few months at $6/gallon. Best deal I have seen.

I think the key words there are promo credits....you have to be careful how you use them. For instance, I had a $25 credit for pet stuff. If you ordered a $15 item, you lost the rest of the credit....
