I bought this last year and returned after a month. I did not like the system. It shakes sometimes and creates a vacuum when opening if you are ready for work could be a bad thing to open it.

Anyone just cut away the larger bowl portion? It doesn’t seem to serve a function. From reviews there seems likes there’s holes at bottom of it so if the cup leaks it just goes straight through all...

Just an FYI, this is the version for older Vitamix blenders and will NOT work with Ascent series blenders. Those cups have a different (smaller) base.
