I picked up one of these in Columbus today before I saw this thread. I don't remember the listed price (thought it was $29.99) but I remember there was $5 instant savings. Looking at my receipt at...

Fyi electrical is rarely in the exact center of the stud. The code im my area but i believe the whole US is that if the wire is 1¼ or closer to the edge of the stud it needs a nail plate (a steel...

4.2 stars is actually not that bad, and I'd guess that when so many have positive experiences while a non-insignificant percentage have bad results with a product that it comes down to either user...

The one you got was likely the older ProFinder 5000+ model which I also bought one from my local Costco last year. Used it to mount customized window treatments and I was totally impressed with its...

Best stud finder I ever used. Never missed a stud. Forget those cheap $10 ones, go with this! Bought mine at Costco for $30 or $40 a few years back and haven’t regretted it since.

Magnets or magnetic stud finders are definitely cheap and pretty reliable at finding screw/nail heads which gives you some indication of where the studs are, but those fasteners aren't necessarily in...

Electrical should be center of the stud and drywall is at a minimum of 1/2" thick plus skim coat and paint so 1.75" screws "should" be required to hit a wire. Contractor should use nail plates to...
