Not pure sine and not quite as powerful as the one in this thread, but B&H has this APC for $85, which was a good enough deal for me to jump on the other day. APC Back-UPS 1080VA Battery Backup &...

Same here. Was hoping to see the CP1500PFCLCD go on sale for $129 or so, but that hasn't materialized. Just placed an order for the Costco one and will return it in-store if a better deal shows up.

Have not seen a better deal posted yet. Last day for the deal is today. Will look at ordering this one later today and if something better turns up by tomorrow, will cancel before it ships.

If this one makes a coil whine something is wrong and you should return it ASAP.

Building your own takes a lot more than "some" electronics knowledge and will probably cost you more. Also, LiFePo3 is a much better choice for a UPS.

My APC UPSs make an annoying humming/buzzing "coil whine" noise. Is CyberPower better in that regard?

I'm on year 8 with my APC S10. I tested it a few months ago by unplugging it. It ran about 25 minutes. When it was new I got about 35-40 minutes, so it's declining but still quite usable. SLA...

Yes I'm cheap, I'm on slickdeals! I want high quality for low price. Don't particularly care for brand loyalty when products can vary in quality from generation to generation. Maybe the newer...

I also have had several APC units. They're not bad, they're just not great IMHO. I've had 2 die within a year and have heard a lot of bad things. I'd rather spend a few more dollars to get the...

Got an APC Back-UPS XS 1200 and 1500 from 2009 still running like new. Had to replace the batteries two years ago and it works the same as day 1.

Preferring APC to Cyberpower should only be because of the cheaper price on the cheaper made APC devices. This is a decent deal for this great device but a similar spec APC unit is around this price...

Yup. It puts out power like what you would get out of the outlets in your home. Cheaper ones have a "modified sine" which is a fancy way of saying something kinda like a stepped curve that a lot of...

CP1500PFCLCD is an excellent UPS. Look for sub-$150 pricing during the holiday sales.
