A show is a hub unless it needs a specific type of hub. The show and plus are smart home hubs with zigbee. I just didn’t know what they can do without an iris hub or if it needs one.

Echo show does not have a hub and these need a hub. They simply report door open or closed. At this price, I'd wait for Visonics to drop to $10 which also report temperature

Under the Iris specifications it says no. Looks like those might be wifi ones. Says requires Iris hub and wifi, unless it strictly means the hub needs wifi.
